Bugaboo Stamps Friday Freebie 20th December 2019

During our Holiday Critter Chaos week we have challenges for you to join in.  The Friday Freebie has a challenge - a recipe one -  use "Poppi Xmas Present" with the following.

Keep it SIMPLE with 2 layers and ribbon or twine

To be poerfectly honest, I always get confused with the wording 2 layers?????  I have cut a tag from one of my Stampin' Up punches, then put a strip of washi tape down left hand-side then foam mounted Poppi, not sure if that is 2 not counting the base, or 3 counting the base, but I got the SIMPLE right.  Another tag for last minute presents.

Don't forget this is the link for the Friday Freebie every week.  Be quick before you miss out.

Merry Christmas,

Love Gail xx

Bugaboo Stamps New Release 17th December 2019

As part of our Christmas Critters Holiday Critter Chaos week,  Christmas Mouse Light has been released.  On the same day we are also having a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

I have chosen to work with the bottom horizontal row - Tree, Critter and Kraft.  I started with a kraft card base and added a kraft digital paper as well as the new release for my critter and Merry Christmas Tree as my tree.  I love this Christmas tree because it has a built-in sentiment with it (you don't have too much, which is sometimes good). I have raised my little mouse with foam tape.

Don't forget there are still 3 more challenges you can enter until the end of this Critter Chaos week, so keep your eye out.

Bye for now and Merry Christmas.

Your Favourite Things

SheepSki Designs' December Blog Challenge is "Your Favourite Things".  I wondered what I could create for this challenge, then I thought of what has happened to me lately that made me happy.

Of course, sending a very dear friend a birthday present.  This friend re-introduced me to the world of Alice in Wonderland.  If you have read my blogs before, you will know I love searching for quotes to help me in everyday life, quotes that I can add to my projects as well.  Anyhow back to my friend - I found by accident one day in the book section of a local store, an Alice box that caught my attention.  I thought what a nice present for my friend, that is, if she didn't have it already.  Through the marvels of modern technology of mobile phones, Facebook and Messenger, I was able to find out from her daughter that yes, she has lots of Alice stuff, not not that.  There was two of these boxes left on the shelf, so I bought both.  Why not, one for her and one for me! There was something that intrigued me about this box even though I could not open it in the shop.

Here is the mystery box, Alice:  the Wonderland Oracle.  My friend's daughter also told me that my friend has some colouring pages of Jasmine Becket Griffith, so that was a bonus, it was the right gift for her.

When you think of all those classic books as an adult, like Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz, you can find they have more in them than just the children's story.

Now onto my project - I am still taking in the information booklet of the Oracle.  There are so many different ways to read the cards, so I have decided to wait to get into this journey after the festive season and my trip to Tasmania.

In the meantime, I have started to think about what I would do with the findings of the cards, where could I write down my thoughts of what I discover in the Alice quotes in this Oracle.

Some time ago, I bought an Alice pack from Vectoria Designs and of course, with most of their packs, there is always papers for junk journals.  I will use that.  I printed out the cover to start and then decided to look through my image folders for Alice.  I also did some research on the colours of Alice's hair and clothing and found out some very interesting facts.  You should check it out some day.

As a result I could not go past SheepSki Designs Ali n Chez.  She was perfect to colour an alternate scheme and feature in my journal.  Here is the final result.

So I have a few things here that I can call my favourites - creating, quotes, colouring and sharing an interest with my dear friend.

Don't forget if you want to check out Ali n Chez or any other SheepSki Designs digis, use my special discount for my blog followers.

Bugaboo Stamps New Release 5th November 2019

Wow, is this new release close to my heart.

Bugaboo Brat Diabetic Boy and Bugaboo Brat Diabetic Girl are now available in the Bugaboo Stamps shop.

I chose to work with Diabetic Boy.  This image came out at the perfect time.  My grandson Adam has had Type 1 Diabetes for the whole of his life.  He has struggled with readings up and down, mostly up.

Lately, at 14, he has really been working on stabilising his sugars and is getting good consistent results.

Grandma and Pop are so very proud of him for these efforts and I wanted to give him something to remind him of how important he is in our lives.

I decided to put the image in a frame to keep in his room, to remind him everyday of how special he is, and something to keep the motivation going so he can continue to get good results.

We love you to the moon and back Adam, you are our Super Hero!

Bugaboo Stamps "Anything Goes'

This Saturday at Catch the Bug Challenge it is "Anything Goes".

Anything Goes, gives you and me a chance to do some Christmas cards.  I have chosen a kitty cat to play with "Make it Snappy - Meowy Christmas". I coloured him in Copics, giving him a Rudolph nose.  I have used a couple of chipboard embellies from Scrapmatts.

I have entered this in The Outlawz Sketch Challenge.

SheepSki Designs November 2019 Blog Challenge No. 32

This month's theme on the blog challenge is "Christmas is Coming".

I just had to make a Christmas card featuring Santa so I printed off my Rudolph's Mischief, not really sure how I was going to tackle this project.  I coloured both images in Copics, then I chose my design papers.  I know most crafters pick the papers first but I don't always do that, mainly because in my large stash I will find something to suit.

I used a square pearlised base card and design paper and decided to hide Rudolph behind a smaller square.  I came up with the sentiment myself to suit the images.  The chipboard bauble is from Scrapmatts and the doily embellishment is an oldie but a goodie from Charms Creations, unfortunately I don't think Charmane is making these at the moment.

Don't forget to use our special discount for SheepSki Designs when you check out all the images and take a look at Rudolph's Mischief .  You get two images for the price of one, what a bargain!

Bugaboo Stamps Friday Freebie 1st November 2019

This Friday's Freebie is "AutumnSign"

I decided to use this in my Happy Planner.  In Australia, Autumn starts on 1st March.  I have placed the image temporarily in this year's Planner, but it will soon take pride of place when I can start getting organised and decorate my 2020 Planner.

Plus I will be looking for matching signs for the other seasons.  Maybe I will go look now over at the Bugaboo Shop

Well I found a Summer sign in the shop.  That will get me started;  as a matter of fact I can use that this year and next as our Summer starts on 1st December.

Hope you enjoyed  my bit of trivia on Australian seasons!

By the way, keep your eye out for our Holiday Chaos starting 14th December in the Bugaboo Stamps Fan Club Group on Facebook

It is going to be utter CHAOS.  Can't wait to celebrate the Holiday Season with Bugaboo!

Bugaboo Stamps Friday Freebie 25th October 2019

This week's Friday Freebie is "Scarecrow".

I have made an ATC card for myself with this one.  Last year I got into ATCs and did some swapping for a while.  Now I usually just make one for myself here and when I saw this stamp, I thought I could do a set of seasons.  I also remembered I had another Bugaboo scarecrow image in my collection, so I worked that into the ATC too.

I have used Scarecrow Sitter and the Friday Freebie Scarecrow

Catch the Bug Challenge - Saturday Bingo 19th October 2019

OK I think I told you I am not as advanced as my American friends in celebrating Halloween.  However, I came up with an idea for a Mum accompanying her children on Trick or Treat, or even a bag to accompany you to an October party or celebration.

Da da, The Ruby Treat Bag.

Perfect for Australians, I think we are known to be pretty good drinkers!  This bag will hold three wine bottles, but to be on the safe side I would only accommodate two, better to only have two and not see the bag break!!

I have used the bottom line of Bingo this week - 3 layers, orange and ribbon.

The images I have worked with are:

Ruby Calendar October

Pumpkin

Halloween Window Cat

Bugaboo Stamps Friday Freebie 11th October 2019

With this week's Friday Freebie, "Have a Spooktacular Day", I have created a treat bag for Halloween.  In Australia I don't do much for Halloween, maybe buy a few lollies in case some of the neighbouring children stop by.

I also like to have some of these bags on hand for my grandchildren.

This image is available for a week on the Bugaboo Stamps shop and don't forget, it does change every Friday, so don't forget.

Bugaboo Stamps Guest DT - October 2019

I am honoured to be a guest DT for Bugaboo Stamps, as a result of my win in their Christmas in July challenge.

The first inspiration I have done is a card for Anything Goes over at Catch the Blog Challenges.

I have worked with Frame It - For You Flower.  What a lovely stamp, and so versatile, could be for any occasion.  Here is my card:

I recently bought this digi when it came out.  Mind you, when I buy,  I really have to scrutinise my stash of Bugaboo.  I have been buying Jodie's digis probably from the time I first got into digis from the old shop, and her new, so I have to regularly check if I have a new one that pops up from the old shop.

 Here is my card:

My card base is pale pink, with designer paper.  I coloured the image with copics and added three resin glitter butterflies purchased from a small Australian business Corbett Creations Wood Veneers.

I have also used a chipboard word from Make It Crafty, another favourite business of mine.

Positive Changes

It is time for SheepSki Designs October Blog Challenge with the theme "Autumn".  I chose to use as many autumn colours on my project as I could.

I have been contemplating this project for a while, as a matter of fact, ever since I made a purchase from Vectoria Designs.  I hadn't really got into steampunk until I saw their Steamtime junk journal.  I didn't even know what a junk journal was, but the picture of this on the Etsy site, drew me in to its world.

I have now only this year come to the conclusion that I cannot cope with all the negative things in my life, yes, I probably bring them on myself by my own negativity: my husband does call me Miss Negativity, but some are real.  I can't cope with problems like I used to when I was a lot younger.  When my two children were very young, my truck driver husband would be away most of the time and I was mother and father to both of them most of the time.  I worked full-time but still managed to get everything done, take them here and there for their activities and coped with it all, as well as working full-time and sharing the running of our own business with my husband.  Through all the ups and downs I coped and got through everything that presented itself.

Well now at 65 it is not that easy, decisions to make about the end part of our lives seem harder than when we were young.  I have had quite a few things happen in the last few years, little in comparison to what some people go through on a daily basis, but still big things to me.  AND, when I saw this steampunk journal kit, I thought, that is going to help me, help me get through the negativity in my life and teach me to be more positive.

I have mentioned before in my blog, I love looking for quotes, so what better, than using my journal pages for Positive quotes, that I can turn to when I am feeling BLAHH.

And here it is, a work in progress, but it's a start and I am going to fill it with quotes to change my thoughts and feelings into positive outcomes, not negatives.

When I saw Andrea's theme for October, I just knew this was the time to start this project, well the colours of the journal reminded me of autumn.  I knew I had some steampunk images from SheepSki Designs.  Any of you who are digital stamp users, will know that sometimes you follow a digital stamp artist for their talent, not necessarily because of the subject.  I put my hand up as one of those buyers, I love SheepSki images, so I have a fair collection in my stash and I admit with some, I buy because of the artist.  There are just some you buy, not knowing what you will do with them, but you like it, just because.  When I went through my collections, I found quite a few images that can be used in my journal and I didn't even particularly like Steampunk when I bought them.

However, the pages you will see in this post are all SHEEPSKI DESIGNS.

Using "Victoria"

I hope you like this project, I probably didn't write in this blog everything that has been going through my head, but this is the most personal blog I have written since starting my craft blog.

I hope I have inspired you to use your talents with your craft to make something for yourself, not just for everyone else.  We are always doing something for others, but we don't always take care of ourselves.

Don't forget if you are looking at Andrea's stamps, please use this code to get 10% off your order.

I hope to see your October project over on the blog.

Thank you for reading and I hope some of the quotes I have on these pages, help you too!

The Outlawz September 2019 Progressive Challenge

This month's progressive challenge digital image is compliments of Imagine That Digistamp, a very generous digital stamp company who always supports The Outlawz Challenges.  Thank you.

Here is my project.  I have used the Bows and Candy Canes paper from Imagine that Digistamp "Flamingo Christmas" and have created a Christmas card with Lorie's Peppermint Mocha image. The sentiment is from Lorie's Mocha set too.  This is a great set as you get 4 Lories with the different seasons Mochas

I hope Imagine that Digistamp doesn't mind but I added a cupcake from Bugaboo Stamps, another great sponsor of The Outlawz Challenges.

SheepSki Designs September 2019 Blog Challenge

Our theme for the September Blog Challenge #30 is Die Cuts/Punches.  This gave me an opportunity to try out my new purchase, a City Scapes punch from Creative Memories.  I punched it out then covered with black gesso and then applied different shades of Prima Art Alchemy wax.  I chose a background clip art from Google for the park scene and before printing put some sentiments on it.  I used a couple of bits of washi tape (the birds on a wire and the grass with flowers bottom right hand corner) and a couple of little punches (the heart and the bunny).

There we have it, a scene for the gorgeous image "Shopping in Yorkshire".  I coloured her with Copics and added a small pearl to the clasp on her handbag.

I have cut the park scene to layer the city scape punch behind, the punches and image have also been lifted with foam tape.

I hope I have inspired you to enter our Blog Challenge and don't forget if you wish to purchase some SheepSki Designs images from the Etsy shop be sure to use this discount to receive 10% of your order.

The Outlawz Challenges - Freebie/Progressive Challenge August 2019

This month's progressive challenge image is from All Dressed Up and is called "Stars and Back".

I love All Dressed Up images and this one is a welcome addition to my stash - thank you so much for your generosity and sponsorship of The Outlawz Challenges.

Here is my birthday card.  I have used a digital sky paper background for the image, matted with silver.  The image has been attached with foam tape to give it dimension.  I recently purchased some white resin stars from Corbett Creations Wood Veneers, an Aussie business of course.  I thought this card would look perfect with some of these stars added.

SheepSki Designs August 2019 Blog Challenge

Our theme for August is "Animal Madness".  I chose to work with "Purrr-fect Love" of course, seeing I love cats!

I have to admit I have been eyeing off this fantastic image since it hit the Etsy shop, but was a bit scared to tackle it.  Well when the theme for August was announced, I just knew I had to tackle my fears and here is my inspiration.

I have coloured the pussy cats with Copic (ist challenge out of the way, then I fussy cut the cats and the roof tiles out and used some digital paper from NanaVicsDigitals Etsy shop, my favourite Aussie Etsy shop.  I have also used one of Make It Crafty's chipboard sentiments Birthday Wishes.

I hope you will join in our "Animal Madness" theme over at our August Blog Challenge and of course, don't forget if you are looking for some great Animal images to work with, they can be found here.

There are 31 animal images to choose from and don't forget to use the discount code to receive 10% off your whole order (not just animals).
