Thank you Sneaky Sandra

Sneaky Sandra was at it again over at Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans Facebook Group  From time to time Sandra has a little competition and she sometimes there is a twist which we don't know about till the end.

This week we had 24 hours to put a name to a new digi.  I thought this can't be too hard so I put up some suggestions.  Then I got to thinking "I wonder what the twist is this time".  The competition before this one, we had to tell her 5 digis from the shop that started with the first letter of our surname. Then right at the end of the closed post, she said now to be a big winner, we had to show her a coloured image of one of those we picked.  Wow, lets put it this way, I wasn't fast enough to get the twist done, but I was happy still got to pick one free digi.  Sandra is so generous with her competitions.

Well Sneaky Sandra wasn't going to beat me this time.  I pondered and pondered, what would that sneak be thinking now!  Then it came to me, the digi we had to name involved a gnome and a takeaway coffee mug.  I know, we don't have that digi in the shop to buy yet, but Sandra is likely to say the twist is show me one of my other images coloured that have a gnome or coffee in them.

Yes that was it, so I got printing and colouring and designing my cards.  Here they are

Christmas card featuring #3012 Gnome Mountain

Another Christmas card featuring #399 Santa Coffee Break

Sandra still beat me - the twist was that even though there was only one winner for the name of the new digi:

3216 Grande Cappuccignome Digi Stamp

Sandra did award another 2 ladies a prize for coming up with a name she will use for a future image. and guess what I won with my suggestion "Cappuccino Gnome", can't wait to see that image.

So all in all, I was a winner and the bonus is I am two cards closer to my 2020 Christmas card stash, even if I did use images that aren't in the shop at the moment.

I have done that a few times too.  Maybe Sandra will bring them back closer to Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by.

Leann’s World 101 Facebook Progressive Challenge

I haven’t had much time to devote to Progressive Challenges this year so I weaned myself off them at the end of last year.  However when I spotted Leann’s World 101 progressive, I knew I had to buy into it.

“Fancy Nancy” is the cutest and I knew exactly what theme I was going to use.  The expression on her face gave me the idea.

Be sure to check out Leann’s World 101 Facebook Group for the monthly progressive challenge.

Anything But a Card Monday

I have to confess I am a bit of a hoarder if I think I can use something for a second purpose.  The other day I came across a glass holder that was once a Partylite candle.  Well I have now transformed it into a pencil holder and I found it comes in pretty handy when I pick my Copic pens for a particular project.

I have used School Bear Pencil twice, flipping the second one to meet the other.  On the holder I have done this twice as you can see by the different colours.  The background I found on a Google search once before for another project.

I hope you like my inspiration for Catch the Bug Challenge Blog ABAC Monday. Check out our other inspiration projects there.

Anything But A Card

My "Anything But A Card" inspiration for Bugaboo Stamps Catch the Bug Challenge Blog is a notebook.

I found the perfect digi in the shop for the cover

Bird Greetings - Just a note

The inside quote is from my Google searching.

Hope you liked my inspiration.

Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps

Time for another Friday Freebie at Bugaboo Stamps shop!  Drumroll - it is

chickz - happy birdday chickie

For my inspiration I printed two copies of the image and some digital paper in my stash.  It is hard to tell by the photo but I cut out the hands, the nose and gullet, the headpiece, presents, cake and balloons and raised them with foam tape which managed to make the whole image pop.

Now don't forget if you want this image for free, you only have a week before it reverts back to the usual price.

Bye for now,

Gail xx

Bugaboo Stamps New Release Tuesday

This Tuesday's release is Chinese LLL Symbols

I did something different for this image;  I didn't use any markers or pencils, just my computer, printer, scissors, some clip art, a square punch because I could not find my postage stamp punch and two SU stamps.  BUT OF COURSE, the main part was the Chinese Symbols from Bugaboo Stamps.

I have made postcards to send to some local friends I usually see once a week, until the pandemic started.  I still like to put postcards in envelopes so I made a little straight-edged stamp (lol) to decorate that spot.  I don't trust the postal service to deliver postcards that aren't in envelopes;  I think one single piece of paper could get lost anywhere along the journey or caught in a machine and get wrecked (is that a bit cynical of me?).

I printed the front of the postcards on coloured cardstock, but the back with the postcard layout is just on copy paper and I glued the two pieces together on each.

I must mention that I used a Julia Spiri clipart for the cherry blossom branch on both sides and the postcard template is a digital stamp recently released as a limited edition from Unity Stamps.

I love the Chinese symbols and thought they would be perfect to use on a quick note to my friends telling them I miss them and love them.

TUESDAY DIGI STAMP RELEASES ARE 50% OFF FOR 1 WEEK!!

See you soon,

Your Favourite Colour/s

The theme SheepSki Designs is using for the  June Blog Challenge is "Your Favourite Colour/s".  If you are a follower of my blog, you will see that purple often features in my creations.

For my inspiration I have used Wild Rose Heart - image no. 206. I used some digital paper in my stash as the background and placed the Wild Rose Heart on it with foam tape.  I intend to send this card to a relative.  My husband's cousin passed just when the pandemic's restrictions came into place and we could not attend the funeral.  I have left it a while to think of the perfect image for a "Thinking of You" card to send to his wife and family, and I think this is the one.

Don't forget to use the following discount when you purchase from the SheepSki Designs Etsy shop and here is the link to our Blog Challenge.
