 Our optional theme for SheepSki Designs Facebook Group challenge starting 20 October is "Pick a Colour".  I have chosen  purple/mauve to work as it is  my favourite 'go to' colour.

I have used "Giant Daisies"but cropped as much as I could of the daisies and replaced them with the poinsettias from "Christmas Candle".

SheepSki Designs Facebook Challenge

 August's Facebook Group Challenge is "Free for All". What a great opportunity for me to complete another page in my Dragon Junk Journal using "Morpheus.  I have used everyday coloured pencils. some foam squares, some researching on Google and some gems from my large stash (that have been there for ages).  Don't you love it when you use something you have had for ages, I do!

I love this image "Butterfly Curl" but then again I love everything and anything butterflies.

I think this card is Simple but Effective.

SheepSki Designs Facebook Group Challenge

It is no secret if you have read my blog, that I love cats.  For the Facebook Group Challenge inspiration, I started with Cat Nap and decided I would have a go at replicating my Emmie's colourings.  I used my pencils.  I then decided to put the image on a memorydex card so I could keep it in my stash.  I found the perfect quote and placed my hearts cut from designer paper above the cat either side, took a photo and was about to do this blog post and realised the theme for the Facebook challenge was Use an embellishment.

So I changed it up a bit - moved the hearts down and then I thought to myself exactly what is an embellishment.  I came to the conclusion it can be anything I want it to be.  I knew I had in my craft junk room some flairs I hadn't got out lately, so off I went into the depths of my room.  As I picked up the container of flairs, I found an Australian stamp from quite a few years' ago.  I know that, because our letter stamps are $1.10 now, not 70c.  I kept it because I LOVE CATS!  I knew I had a set of steampunk cat flairs, so I picked the closest colouring to Emmie and my previous cat Dusty and attached the stamp and the flair, and now I get to keep the two embellishments that I love in my stash of memorydex cards.  Winner, winner, chicken dinner plus I have some inspiration for the SheepSki Designs Digital Stamps Facebook Group Challenge 58.

Here is a photo of my Emmie I took tonight.

I think I will need to work some more on perfecting her fur and besides my memorydex image is not really Emmie because the image has a long tail and Emmie was born with a stumpy tail, so that is a good enough reason to say they aren't the same cat!

SheepSki Designs Facebook Challenge January 2021

 Our optional twist for our Facebook Challenge is "Feature a Creature".  I have decided to make some Christmas cards every month so I can feel a bit more organised in 2021.  I am even planning on sending them out as soon as our Christmas stamps are available, instead of the last two weeks of Christmas.  I love to give my recipients the option of reusing my Christmas cards so I insert a written sentiment inside with a light application of glue stick, then they have the option of pulling it out and reusing the card again.  I do have the concern of what happens to my handmade cards when they leave me - I guess us crafters think of that.

"Layer It Up"

SheepSki Designs Facebook Challenge this month is "Layer It Up".

For my inspiration I decided to show you a Sympathy card I made for a friend of my Mum's.  Geoff at 97 ( I think) has lost his wife Norma, who has been sick since Christmas.  They have been married over 70 years.  I chose to use "Poppies" for the card as Geoff was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and still attends many war related groups and meetings, memorial services and anything related to his service in the war and even goes to Vietname War memorials.  My step-father actually served with Geoff in these wars as well but he has passed.   I thought the poppies would be a nice touch for him and his family. 

I have printed the image twice and layered it to a white card on the left bottom corner and then put the second image on the right with a foam tape double thickness so the right image is higher than the left.
