2021 Cat Lovers Hop 25-30 October

My first entry to the Cat Lovers Hop is an ATC using a Halloween ATC Background from Gecko Galz, a photo strip chipboard ATC shape and of course this gorgeous stamp from Ike's Art featuring High 4.  I found the sentiment on a Google search and left it with a High five not a four because I would love to high five as many cats as I could, including my own Emmie.  I am not sure if Emmie is having a swipe at me when she does her High 4, or whether it is genuine.  She can get a bit carried away when playing, I have scratches and claw holes to prove it lol.

All Dressed Up October challenges

This month All Dressed Up Facebook Challenge has a theme of Autumn and/or Halloween.  I chose Halloween to try my hand at using a serviette for a background.  I used "Purrrfect Together" as the image, I know not really a Halloween image, but too cute not to consider.  I coloured her in pencils.

Our optional theme for SheepSki Designs Facebook Group challenge starting 20 October is "Pick a Colour".  I have chosen  purple/mauve to work as it is  my favourite 'go to' colour.

I have used "Giant Daisies"but cropped as much as I could of the daisies and replaced them with the poinsettias from "Christmas Candle".

Beccy's Place October Blog Challenge

For this month's Blog Challenge I have made a birthday card for my brother in Tasmania.  We always buy some Lotto goodies to share when it is our birthdays.  So I will go out on the 25th and do that, but meanwhile this card is in the mail.

I have used Blooming Tools digital stamp set for this card and coloured the images with pencils.

Thanks for looking,

Gail xx

"Baby Shark"

Today I am showing you a birthday card I made for my son-in-law.  I meant to go into detail on my personal blog here, however, I got carried away on the Bizzy Bec Blog and not sure I can take more tears at the moment.  It might be best if I just copy and paste at this point in time.

My card this month is dedicated to my son-in-law.  As soon as I saw this die in the shop I just knew I had to have it.  I would always try and give my son-in-law, now deceased, a card special to him when it was his birthday.  I remember doing a sloth one year because my grandchildren and daughter would often call him one when he was a bit slow to do things, mind you his shift work as a dump truck and dozer driver for the mines contributed to some of that .  Luke had a tattoo of a shark on his shoulder blade that he was very proud of and once told me he would have loved to have been a marine biologist so he could study sharks.  There wasn't a shark documentary he hadn't seen.

After I bought this die, I thought, what are you going to do with it now - Luke has gone but not forgotten; losing his life in a tragic accident last year five days after Christmas.  I came to my senses and thought why should that stop me from giving him a birthday card.

My daughter and grandchildren have a cabinet with memorabilia from Luke's life  and I decided I would make the card and hope my daughter would put it there.  Of course, it's in the special cabinet and everyone loved it.

What am I doing, the tears are flowing while I write this.  I wasn't going to get this personal on this blog.  I should have penned my own first.

Anyhow I had better show you the card and get over to my personal blog.  I hope I didn't upset anyone by going off track here.

(unfortunately I bought the last one, however I am sure Bec can re-order if you email her)

Actually I just did a die-namics advanced search in the shop and there are quite a few My Favourite Things Die-namics Dies to check out,

See you next time and don't forget our October "Anything Goes" Challenge - you still have time to get your creations in.

See you next time,

Gail

Gecko Galz Blog October Image challenge

This month's free image is awesome.  I love owls.  Here is what I created with the image as well as using the frame,  the bow and the paper the bow is wrapped around from the Arsenic and Lace Digital Kit.

Bizzy Bec's October 2021 "Anything Goes" Blog challenge

 Hi,

Another month gone by and we are in October and still in lockdown.  Here is my inspiration for October.

On the front of the black pearl card, I have layers of SU design paper.  The stamp and two sentiments are from the My Favourite Things - Fairytale Friendship clear stamp set.  I have used a mixture of Prismacolor Premium pencils and everyday pencils only because I have temporarily lost my Prisma black, I hope that is temporary!

The card is for my grand-daughter.  I am not sure if the choice of the stamp was the perfect one, but she is an avid book reader and also an animal lover.  In the inside of the card I have added a digital stamp from another company.

I hope you will join us in our October Blog Challenge.

Bye for now,

Gail

SheepSki Designs "Hot and/or Cold Colours"

October's Blog Challenge optional twist is "Hot and/or Cold Colours".  I made a card using "Beach Hut Holiday" concentrating on cold (cool) colours. I have used some Kaisercraft design papers as background mats and some washi tape under the image.

Can you spot another two images on my scene?  Yes I have used "Serenity" and "Baby Feet".  I hope to see your creation on the Blog Challenge and don't forget the discount code for the Etsy shop SKIANDREA10.

Morgans ArtWorld October Blog Challenge #10

This month's blog challenge is of course "Anything Goes".  This time I am working with the gorgeous digital stamp "Wren".  I just loved the serenity of this image and wanted to find a special quote that fitted it.  I layered the cream square card with designer paper, card and netting under my image and quote before adding the final touch of the chipboard Sing (which has been in my stash for a while just waiting for the right project).  I used Prismacolor pencils to colour this image.

I hope you will come and join our Facebook Group and of course follow Morgans Artworld Blog. The name of the Morgans shop is Creative Art Design Studio.  When you check out the shop don't forget to look at Sherry's Pick of the Week For 'The Pick Of The Week' products only - here's a manager's discount code of 20% off: GOOJW1S6QQ95
