Fripperies & Butterflies Gecko Galz Steampunk Blog Challenge

With this month's Steampunk image I made a male birthday card.

I have used a couple of images from the GG Steampunk Dreamland Collage sheet. I left a pocket opening in the top of the card behind the image to hold some cards and they can be pushed down further if an envelope is needed.  I have also put an insert in the card because I have used a black shimmer card base.

Gecko Galz Monthly Image Challenge

May's image was a beautiful black and white photo of a Mum and her two girls.  I racked my brain on how I would present this and last week it came to me.

Lately I have been enjoying making junk journals and recently I bought a mystery pack of goodies from Donna at Believecottagecraft and there was some sheets of ledger paper in the paper pack.  I made up a mixture of black tea and sprayed here and there, added a bit of coffee to it after the tea sprays.  I even smeared some turmeric on one of them.

When I printed out the image the first word that came to mind was "family".  That's it - a key words Collage journal and I can add to it at a later date.  Here is my creation for the Family page.

I have used various collage items from my cut-up tin as well as an image from Sherry West  "Precious Piggies"  coloured with everyday coloured pencils.

Thank you to Gecko Galz for another great image to work with and the first page of this journal.

You should check out Gecko Galz Etsy shop for lots of goodies.  I can't keep away from the shop!

Gecko Galz Christmas Blog Challenge for May

Hey there, another Christmas card thanks to Gecko Galz.

Never More Designs Gothic Blog Challenge

I could not believe it when I saw the May image for the Gothic Challenge.  I had only just been to a performance of Macbeth 2021 at our local theatre and as soon as I saw the image I knew what to do with it.

Eight of us attend the theatre each time there is a new performance on:  we usually buy season tickets but they weren't issued this year because of Covid.  When we saw Macbeth was the next one playing we still did not hesitate to book.  We love supporting this quality community theatre in South-West Sydney, only a suburb away from where I live.

The Town Hall Theatre is a treasured historic building. Located on the southern end of Queen Street and only a short walk from the Arts Centre precinct. The Campbelltown Theatre Group have been using the theatre since 1980. Wowing audiences with multiple sell-out productions every year.

The current Town Hall Theatre occupies two heritage buildings. The north side building was the original Town Hall, while the adjoining building was the original Fire Station. The "Sons of Temperance” built the original Town Hall in 1862. A few years later, in 1884, it was bought by Campbelltown Council for the sum of £800. The Town Hall was abuzz in the early 1900s when it was hired to screen silent movies in the evenings.

Visitors beware, did you know the theatre is haunted by Fred Fisher's ghost? Fred's demise in 1826 has been made famous through the Legend of Fisher’s Ghost stories. George Worrall was executed for the murder of Fred Fisher. George rented the land on which these buildings stand. Frederick Fisher was living in Mr Worrell’s house at the time of his murder. Learn more about the legend on a Fisher's Ghost Investigation Ghost Tour.

OK back to my collage after that little historical insite into the Theatre.  Usually I keep my tickets, and program to the performances, but this time I decided to make a collage of my ticket as memorabilia.

Bizzy Bec's Blog Challenge - May 2021

Well another month has gone and we are looking at the Blog Challenge for May and of course, as always "Anything Goes" is the theme.

I hope this month you get a chance to check out the new website for the store.  It's a beauty, there are products in the Sell Off section from cancelled orders, digital stamps to buy as well as free, products available now and products to pre-order.  Check it out right now before you forget.

My inspiration this month is  ...  you guessed it another cute Koko image.  I told you I was obsessed.  This month I have worked with "Koko with Top Hat".

White card base
Designer paper
Koko with Top Hat coloured with everyday pencils
Candy Tree digital stamp from Make It Crafty (now closed)
Washi Tape
Circle punches

I decided to decorate the inside of the card just a little.

Washi tape again
Present digital stamp from my stash

I love Bizzy Becs Digi Ticket stubs, there are more sheets to choose from and you can resize them to your heart's content.  I print mine out and keep them in a bad and now I am thinking I will use them to do a bit more decorating on the front or inside of the card.

For your information here is the digital stamp link in the store and when you open it, you will see different sections to look out.  Don't forget the freebies, there are instructions on how to order them.

I hope I have inspired you enough to join our May Blog Challenge.  See you there!

Morgans' Artworld Blog Challenge #5

Morgan's Artworld Blog Challenge for May is as always "Anything Goes".  For my inspiration I have used Flowers 2.  This digital stamp is great value as you actually get 2 images for the price of 1 - a Rose and a Lily.

The first card I made was for the family of a great family friend who passed away at the age of 98.  I chose to colour the rose light pink, as light pink roses symbolise sympathy, well that's what Google told me.

As this stamp had a second image, I decided  to whip up a spare sympathy card.

 Green card base (square)
Designer paper from a discount store
Find It Trading Jeanine's Art -  With Sympathy - Rose Frame Die
Rose image from Flowers 2 coloured with everyday coloured pencils

Kraft card base
Design paper
Green oval from die above
Lily cut from die above
Coloured pencils
Small flowers from my stash
Pink resin heart
Sentiment from my digital stash

Don't forget if you aren't a member yet in Facebook's Morgan's Artworld Group you can join here.
We would love to reach 1000 members soon.

Morgan's Little Chimp

I just love this little chimpanzee, I could not resist purchasing.  It is one of my inspirations for May for Morgan's Artworld.

For this card I have used a kraft card and brown cardstock.  I used the same brown for matting for the little chimp plus some gold paper.  The ribbon lace was purchased from K-mart recently.  Around the border of Little Chimp I doodled some little dashes and found the sentiment searching for monkey birthday quotes.  I am still using my basic pencils for all the colouring.

Little Chimp is available on the Creative Art Design Studio shop and don't forget to check out Sherry's Pick of the Week.  On this page you will find a discount code of 20% off some of Sherry's favourites.

Don't forget our challenges here.

See you next time,

Gail

Catch the Bug Blog Challenge

This Saturday's Blog Challenge is Anything Goes.  Today I am showing you a gift card I made for my Christmas card.  It is a small kraft card with a matching envelope (not shown).  I am using Christmas Cat one of my favourite images and easy and quick to colour with whatever you want to use.  I have used everyday pencils again.  On top of the kraft card I glued a red piece of paper and then used some scraps of Christmas design paper to make the background.  It is a great idea for using up scraps.

Have you started making some Christmas cards and tags yet?
