Hello Blogging Friends!!
Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born with only one X chromosome, instead of two, leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities. This condition occurs one in 2,500 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term. That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!
Prize Winners will be announced on February 15, 2020.
Thirty-six caring Sponsors and five DT Members have partnered with us to bring Turner Syndrome Awareness to the Public. For details on how you might win any of these fabulous prizes, please see Lori's TS home page. Thanks for learning About Turner Syndrome.
Seven talented and caring designers are offering prizes on their personal blogs as well:
My TS related project is inspired by the TSA official color board:
This is the front of my square card. I have used grape purple cardstock and used a couple of square dies to cut out the front of the card and the designer paper, exposing "Bubble Dreams", a SheepSki Designs image available in Andrea's Etsy shop. The chipboard butterfly and sentiment was from my stash. I think it was a Scrap FX chipboard that I have had in my stash for years just waiting for the perfect project. I painted the chipboard with a lime green sparkle pen and added an oval sentiment supplied by Lori.
I decided to embellish the inside of the card too. I added Flutterby butterflies from SheepSki Designs (free on the SheepSki Designs Blog Challenge website, just look for the Freebies tab), patterned paper and another oval sentiment from Lori. The hearts, extra bubbles and the Butterfly Kisses ticket, I found by searching my digi stash.
I hope you like my card and visit the other volunteers' blogs to participate in this Hop. Our sponsors have been wonderful too, supporting Lori with prizes for participants.
Turners Syndrome is a terrible thing to happen to a girl and I was shocked to read this on Lori's Blog.
There are many things I did not know about Turners Syndrome. Just head over to My Turner Syndrome Journey and leave me a comment telling me what you have learnt about TS that you didn't know.
Please visit the "It's A Girl Thing" Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop 2020 page to become eligible for prizes.
Good luck and thank you for visiting my blog.

DeleteWow, this is absolutely gorgeous! I love how you finished the inside, a lot of beautiful work here! I just learned about Turner Syndrome today - I heard of it before but didn't know what it was. if I had to pick one thing I learned, it would be that the average age of diagnosis is 9+ and that some are not diagnosed until adults. And even more shocking is that only 2% of babies conceived with Turner Syndome survive to birth. Well I guess that's 2 things. Thanks for helping to educate us about this disorder.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, I love the girl with bubbles image.
What a darling image! I love the dimension added by the sentiment and butterfly and am thankful you are raising awareness for TS. As an elementary teacher, I am glad to learn about these miracle girls and how TS affects learning.

ReplyDeleteHi Gail :) Love the square card...just don't see enough of them! The purples are beautiful together and I love the sentiment..."May your day be filled with...." so much that I wrote it down!!! Perfect for this hop! Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL card!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your image, sentiments and design, a WONDERFUL way to CELEBRATE the MIRACLE girls living with TS! I hopped along last year. There are so many aspects to this genetic disorder that it is almost overwhelming, so I appreciate the opportunity to learn more again this year. Shocking things, like the average age at diagnosis is 9 years, so many years missed where treatments could have been managed to ensure effects are minimised for the girls and their families. Lori is an AMAZING Mother!
THANK YOU for sharing and supporting the Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop :)
A lovely card! Thank you for sharing the info on this hop. I had no idea how many girls were affected and the health problems it causes.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty inside and out. Love the sentiments and the bubble image.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love how you even decorated the inside to match the outside.
ReplyDeleteLovely card! The Bubble Dreams image is so precious. Beautiful finish for the inside, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your part in this important hop!
Although I hopped along last year, I had forgotten that 99% of conceptions with Turner Syndrome do not survive until birth. They really are miracles!!

Your card is lovely and the sentiments just perfect for this bloghop. I didn't know that young girls could begin estrogen therapy at such a young age. I always of it as something for menopausal women. It breaks my heart to think of all these young ladies suffering with TS and not enough research being done to help them. Thank you for your help in raising awareness of Turner Syndrome. Hugs ~ Lena
ReplyDeleteVery apt sentiments, love the image. Wow I never knew about the estrogen therapy ! These girls certainly are miracles xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Jean for your post. It is a real eye opener to learn so much about this terrible disease. Gail xx
Deletestunning card, I love the image!
ReplyDeleteThank you for raising awareness about TS.
I was shocked to learn that so few babies survive to birth and also early estrogen therapy is something new to me .
